One80 Gladiator 3 Plus and Winmau Blade 6: The Similarities

1. Thin and staple-free spider

The two boards have the same quality of spider, which can hold up very well even when getting hit by darts several times. Thin and staple-free wiring reduces the number of bounce-outs, hence, enhancing the playing experience.

2. Great durability

Both One80 Gladiator 3 Plus and Winmau Blade 6 dartboards can last for a long time. However, the Gladiator 3 Plus seems to be more durable than the Blade 6. The reason can be that it’s a firmer and harder board, which greatly contributes to its toughness.

Self-healing of both dartboards is excellent, although we notice that the Winmau Blade 6 heals slightly faster. To keep your board last for a long time, remember to rotate it regularly (both the Gladiator 3 Plus and Blade 6 has a removable number ring, by the way).

One80 Gladiator 3 Plus and Winmau Blade 6: The Differences

1. Firmness

Firmness is one of the main factors that make one person buy one over the other. The One80 Gladiator 3+ is a firmer dartboard and has a harder surface. If you usually throw darts with great force, then it would be a better choice for you. On the other hand, if you don’t throw with force, then you might experience more bounce-outs since darts might not penetrate the surface smoothly and possibly fall to the ground.

Winmau Blade 6 is a softer board. It can be a great and safer choice for beginners and casual players who do not yet understand and find out their preferences.

2. Sound

We notice that the sound of the Gladiator 3+ is slightly quieter than the Blade 6 (please note that the Blade 6 is not even loud). This could be due to firmness.

Blade 6 is not a very firm board compared to the Gladiator 3+. If you throw at the Blade 6 with lots of force, the darts can penetrate all the way in, making them hit the back of the board, resulting in more sound.

3. The Look

The look of the two boards has some differences. The first noticeable thing is the vein-free surface. The Gladiator 3 Plus doesn’t have any veins on the surface, creating a cleaner look. Meanwhile, the Winmau Blade 6 remains to have these typical veins (due to sisal biscuits compressed together to form the board), giving a more traditional feel to it.

Besides the logos on the board, the color scheme is also slightly different. The colors on the Gladiator 3 Plus seem to be brighter than the Blade 6.

4. Price

Winmau Blade 6 is more expensive than the Gladiator 3 Plus. The price gap is around $20. You can base on what we have explained above about the pros and cons of each board to decide whether the price gap is worth it.

Our Advice

Overall, both boards are some of the best dart boards on the market and can last for a long time.

If you want to save some money and don’t mind the board’s firmness, or you prefer a firm board, then the One80 Gladiator 3+ is a great choice for money.

But if you don’t like a firm board and don’t throw with force, or you are not sure what degree of board firmness you prefer, then Winmau Blade 6 is a safer choice.
